With this Advisory Board we hope to be in closer contact with our community on aging issues and to make our community more aware of the great opportunities that are available to seniors. If you are interested in helping, contact Dale Dunn @ www.elndale1@verizon.net.
Thanks to all of you for your continued support through membership, plaque sponsors, Senior Saturday & the On Course! golf tournament. Your donations help us to augment funding for programs at Rodger’s Seniors Center and direct services to the frail and elderly through Seniors Outreach. The 2010 budget will be presented for approval during the April luncheon general meeting where we will also recognize those members of 10+ years.
The HBCOA Board of Directors is currently accepting applications. If you are interested in serving on the board, please contact me and
we will send you an application.
Do you have a suggestion or idea? Please let us know. The HBCOA Board meets monthly on the first Thursday at 9 am at Rodger’s Senior Center. All are welcome. My email: donmacallister@msn.com.
Yours,
Don MacAllister

Greetings
Spring Time! A couple of months ago, we held a Facebook for Seniors workshop as part of our new afternoon computer classes, it was sold out. I know that many of you out there use computers, and if not, it’s never too late. Please consider our computer classes to enhance your skills. Computers and networking help seniors stay in touch with the world and there are also untold benefits with new technologies. For example, E-commerce, online banking and the search powers of Google are available to everyone and an invaluable asset for people with mobility challenges. The Internet is also a great source of information about activities and events, both local and global, the perfect incentive to remaining active. And surfing the web provides a powerful mood boost: a recent Phoenix Center study demonstrated that Internet use by the elderly reduced depression by 20%!
We even have a PC Buddy Club for real life interaction with others who can help with questions and suggestions. They meet twice a month on Thursday afternoons. Get busy.
See you at the movies,
Randy Pesqueira, Executive Director.
